Dot-Macracy A Success!!!!!!!!!

Today (February 7, 2012), all of the students at Fatima Academy and younger children of the Cape Shore were given the opportunity to select pieces of the playground of their dreams. The children were each given four dots to place on their favorite pieces of equipment. They drew pictures of their perfect playground and created colorful handprints stating the things they were thankful for in their lives! The pictures will be used to thank corporate donors and the handprints will be used to form the ribbon for our opening ceremony on June 1, 2012. We would like to thank the children, community members and parents who helped out and attended this event!

The Children have a say!!!

On Tuesday, January 31 at 1:30pm, students will take part in a process called Dot-macracy. During this event, students will partake in various activities at several different stations. One of the stations at this event will have students voting on which pieces of playground equipment they would like to have in the new playground. Students will be given three stickers that they can place on any of the available equipment pieces. The most popular pieces choosen will be put into the new playground. During this process, the school children as well as the preschool children are designing their playground. We invite parents to come in and join their child/children in the process. It promises to be a very rewarding and worthwhile event.

Due to inclement weather, our Dot-macracy event has been postponed until Tuesday, February 7 at 11:00am.
